Best position to be in when you have hemorrhoids?

I am 22 years old, and i am dealing with hemmorrhoids which have been bothering me for the past year. I have read about a floor kneeling position that is supposed to take the pressure off of the veins and bring some relief. I also know that you need to exercise more when you have this condition. My question is, when your not exercising and am just in general "sitting around" is it better to lay on your side and not sit directly on your butt? Is more bed rest better? What position will bring the most relief?

Invalid rings are great for that. Horrible name, but great results…that way you can sit without the pain of sitting directly an our butt.

Did these occur after having had a child?
Forget about all the home remedies. See a competent general surgeon to determine if you’re a candidate for having them ‘banded.’ It’s an out-patient procedure and you’ll probably have to resort to oral analgesics for a brief period. After a few days, they’ll simply ‘drop off!’ and you’ll be free! Free of them!

I would get it checked out by a doctor. It seems if it has been a year, even if just off and on, and has altered your life style (how to even sit in a chair!) it is time to go to the doctor. Often your own doctor can take care of the problem, but if it is extensive, there are specialist he could refer you to. Also, looking at your diet, water intake, and, in general, your bowel habits may be in order. There is a way to prevent hemorrhoids also. Good luck!

Sitting on an inflatable donut is most likely to give you any relief if any.

One thing that is likely to help chronic hemmorrhoids is doing kegal exercises with your anus. You concentrate on squeezing the muslces of your anus over and over again to build up their strength and increase the tone of the muscular wall around it. The veins are imbedded in this muscular wall and the exercise tends to pull them back in, when done regularly.

In extreme cases, laser surgery can be very effective in solving the problem permanently.
