Can Hemorrhoids last for years?

I had hemorrhoids almost 2 years ago and my anus never went back to normal. I have what is like a little external ball of skin the size of a marble protruding from my anus that never used to be there. When I first had hemorrhoids it was very painful and bled. Now, there is no pain, but it is kind of annoying. How do I get it to go back up in my anus where it belongs? I can push it back up there but it always comes back out…Will it be like this for the rest of my life? Is this normal?
After researching it I believe it may be Anal Prolapse…Is my only alternative surgery…Or can I get rid of this by medicine?

once you have hemorrhoids you will have them most likely till you die. But if you really think that they won’t be there forever go see a doctor about it.

I’ve had the same problem for four years now. They were inherited to me when I had my daughter. I was told they can do some kind of laser surgery to remove them, but unless they’re painful, don’t worry about them. The only thing you can do is while in the shower under the warm water, push them back in there like you’ve been doing. You could use Preperation H or Tucks pads to help, but from my experience, they haven’t went away yet…….

Yes, it’s normal, as long as they aren’t causing pain or bleeding I wouldn’t worry. Hemorrhoids are the same as vericose veins. They can be surgically removed but docs will do that only if they are really bad.

Try Rue Care Oil – it shrinks the veins and prevent hemorrhoids from returning.

They really don’t ever go away. Once you get them, their yours for life. Even when they aren’t flared up and painful, they’re still there. Pretty much harmless, but at times, surgery is necessary depending on how many you have and how big they are.

What you have is an external hemmoroidal vein tab. It won’t stay in because it doesn’t belong in. Yes it will be there forever unless you have it surgically reduced… Not worth it as long as it remains asymptomatic. When active, preparation "H" will usually reduce it. I have had one for more than 50 years and have only had to use the prep H twice in my life.
