Do I have a hemorrhoid?

I’ve recently noticed that there’s a bump near my anus and it only hurts when I wipe. There’s only one bump. Do I have a hemorrhoid? If so what are the effects and how can I make it go away?

  1. It does sound like a hemorrhoid but you may want to call your doctor to be sure.

A lot of people get hemorrhoids because they are constipated. Are you constipated a lot? Make sure you drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water a day, and try to eat at least 30 grams of fiber a day. This will make your stool softer and you won’t aggravate your hemorrhoid more with hard stools. If you want to try a laxative, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Usually docusate is the best for hemhorroids because it isn’t a powerful laxative, it just softens it a little. But your doctor will be able to determine if you actually need the laxative or not.

Also, when you are in the bathroom, make sure you are ready to start going as soon as you sit down. So don’t read on the toilet, or lounge around since that can bring blood to your hemorrhoid, which can make it bigger.

Also, use a moist tissue instead of toilet paper. You can use baby wipes, medicated hemorrhoid pads, or just run some water over a piece of tissue.

Also it helps to keep your anus clean so wipe it with a moist tissue whenever you are in the bathroom even if you don’t have to go. That helps with itching and preventing it from getting infected.

If it gets worse, you should go to your doctor while its aggravated and they can see where it is and possibly band it.
