I never thought I would suffer from hemorrhoids. I recall my mother dealing with the condition way back when I was a small kid. She would do her best to act like the condition didn’t bother her too much, but you could see and even sense the painful discomfort she was experiencing. I always thought hemorrhoids were something other people would get, but not me.

In the spring of 2009, I remember sitting in a meetin and feeling lig at workke I couldn’t get into a comfortable sitting position. I felt a soreness that just wouldn’t go away, but I didn’t come to the realization that I had hemorrhoids until a few days later. In the meantime, I continued to deal with stretches of days whereby I could barely sit at my desk more than a few minutes and even felt a similar level of pain when standing. Simply put, it became intolerable.

After months of gritting my way through this condition, I finally arrived at that moment where I wanted to be more proactive about dealing with it.
