Fast Hemorrhoid Relief
Painful Hemorrhoids, if you don’t know, are awful. Nothing good about them. Hemorrhoids are enlarged (and frequently painful) veins in the anal/rectal area, much like varicose veins. Varicose veins are those large, spidery veins seen usually in the lower legs, which are caused by genetic weakness of the vein walls, excessive pressure within the veins, excessive standing and/or damage due to inflammation. Bleeding hemorrhoids are extremely disruptive to everyday life, and simply halt many activities.
Most women and men have “potential” hemorrhoids; they are lying in wait for aggravation. Pregnancy, a low-fiber diet,(resulting in straining on the stool), prolonged sitting or standing (particularly on hard surfaces), stress, irritability, and excessive physical exertion are additional aggravators.
The main culprit in hemorrhoid development is our terrible, American diet. Sugar, primarily. Sugar causes inflammation,
and is a constant problem if not controlled. In many cases, the elimination of sugar alone cures hemorrhoids (or stops their
nagging pain). Hemorrhoids are further worsened by “drying” foods and beverages, such as sodas, alcohol, and strangely enough,
vegetables like potatoes, broccoli and lettuce (in excess). The dryer hemorrhoids are, the more hateful they are. Castor
oil has proven to be one of the best home remedies, as it addresses this condition directly and naturally (the dryness).
There is often the question, “How do I know if I have hemorrhoids?” Some of the symptoms are itching, burning, pain and inflammation in and around the rectal area, and/or bleeding (bright blood on the tissue after defecation). Hemorrhoids can get progressively worse, going from mere irritation to the emergency room. Once they prolapse (fall outside of the rectum), hemorrhoids quickly fill with blood, like little water balloons. If they are aggravated further by gravity (excessive standing, for example) the extreme pain really begins.
There is a natural “deflation” that occurs when the hemorrhoids are persuaded to go back inside the rectum. They don’t generally go alone, so they’ll need some assistance. After the morning gripping of the toilet, the hemorrhoids and rectal area should be cleaned, warm, and moistened. If they are dry, they are likely to burst upon touching. A “pinching” motion is best (from the bottom of the hemorrhoid). A sitz bath is also recommended for bleeding hemorrhoids. Sit in a shallow bath at about 102 degrees for 10-15 minutes. This quickly aids in relief and reduction of inflammation. If they burst, there is more you can do.
Bleeding hemorrhoids need special attention, if you want to treat them yourself. The bleeding must be stopped, first. Topical and oral Vitamin K are the best coagulators. If you take a couple of Vitamin K, plus apply the liquid on the hemorrhoids themselves, the bleeding will quickly cease. Once again, they are also less painful if they are pushed inside the rectum, even if bleeding. The pain will be rather intense when you do this, but only briefly. You don’t have a prayer if they are left outside the rectum to “expand”.
There are many pharmaceutical, over-the-counter and natural remedies on the market to relieve the pain of hemorrhoids, tons of them in fact.
Most don’t work. I tried one prescription of “Proctosol”, and it practically burned me a new one. That is what you’ll get with
most synthetic concoctions; temporary relief, followed by more pain
To get the safest hemorrhoid relief, you should do the following. Do them all if you can:
Stop eating sugar, now, today. You’ll see a difference in less than 24 hours.
Take 1-2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil daily (for the dryness)
Drink 8-16 ounces of aloe vera juice daily (best anti-inflammatory)
If you have a sedentary lifestyle, start walking 30 minutes each day
Take the following natural supplements: Rutin, Bilberry, Horse Chestnut, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Butcher’s Broom, Ginseng, and/or Astragalus. There are others, but these are the most effective.
Take 2 tablespoons of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar each day
Don’t eat ice or ice cream
Change your diet; Drink 8 glasses of water each day, lots of organic whole grains, legumes and non-drying vegetables
More chicken, fish and turkey can also be beneficial (due to their oil content)
However, if you do all of the above and your condition doesn’t improve, a proctologist should be seen. They generally recommend lancing (slicing) in the case of swollen, inflamed hemorrhoids (which is a painful procedure, indeed). Not recommended. The pain afterwards is off the charts. Allopathic doctors also prescribe creams, which contain far too many toxins for my taste.
Being a former hemorrhoid sufferer, I use all of the above. It controls hemorrhoids completely. Once you have, or have had hemorrhoids, you have to remain constantly careful in what you consume, as “wrong diet” is mainly responsible.
