Herpes Hemorrhoid Fissure question?
How would one treat the itch and pain of both the above all at the same time? Do you think tea tree oil would be ok – could you still use tucks or preparationH or would they just make the herpes worse? Is Hydrocortisone anti itch ok for the sores – (all sores in the same region as the fissure) – Valtrex is being taken now – lastly, what would you recommend to fix the fissure without surgery? Don’t say, "see a doctor" because that will not happen until patient is clear of herpes sores do to the humiliation factor – just looking for possible help until then. Thanks.

Fissures, especially in that area present a difficult healing problem. Typically, they’re not in an easy area to view. So, it’s difficult for the person who has them to assess. Unfortunately, it should be examined, to determine how involved the herpes lesions are, the degree of the fissure-how long the track is, etc. and if a non-surgical procedure can provide some comfort and begin the healing process. This is a somewhat common problem so primary care physicians and specialty docs are quite familiar with it. Hopefully, there’s a sensitive primary care physician caring for this person so that this somewhat common but perhaps embarrassing and serious problem can be addressed. Some of the remedies you mentioned might make the problem worse because a fissure can be a very narrow track where creams and oils, etc., might get enclosed and make the problem worse.

I understand the humiliation aspect of your issues, but always remember that there is almost nothing that surprises or shocks doctors because they have seen and heard it all. I have fissures also and i know how very painful they are. I do not have herpes but I can only imagine the pain you must be in. I once had a fissure that was so bad I accidentally touched it while taking a bath and i fainted. Literally passed out from the pain. I think you should go ahead and use the tucks pads and ointments. I do not think it would make the herpes worse. It may even help the situation. Good luck.
