Ahh, the joys of pregnancy. It’s not too early, you can get them anytime during pregnancy due to the extra blood flow down there. I got one at 8 weeks as well.

You can’t really get rid of them, they go away on their own after awhile, but there are a couple of things you can do to relieve your discomfort. Try Tuck’s pads, they’re soaked in witch hazel. Use them to wipe after you use the restroom, or sit for awhile with one directly on the hemorrhoid to soak it. It relieves the burning and itching. Preparation H sells similar wipes too, and they also make a cream that has a slight amount of pain reliever in it too.

At night, lie on your left side, and try not to strain during bowel movements. You can request a brand of prenatal vitamins that contain a stool softener from your doctor if constipation and straining is a problem. Don’t try to push them back in, it may cause you more pain and discomfort.

My doctor gave me a steroid suppository. You can ask your doctor and find out if that is something you could maybe take. I was way farther along then you though when mine started showing up.

You can’t do too much, I have a very mild one. Just make sure to stay hydrated and eat a lot of fiber. strawberries have a ton of fiber and vitamins. By not getting constipated, they will not get as irritated. If they get too bad, talk to your OB. They have seen them before.

I agree with everything Karma has said. My doc also told me to increase my water in-take (I’m up to 12-14 bottles in a 24-hr period now!) as well as eat lots of fruits a veggies. I’m on iron supplements due to anemia, so that doesn’t help when I have a BM. Alot of prenatals will have iron in them, and if you find you have to strain when having a BM, that could be what has caused the hemorrhoids. That’s where the stool softener will come in (and it helps with the pain of a BM too). Sleeping on your back will aggravate (and sometimes even encourage the development of) hemorrhoids.
Good luck; the pain & itching won’t last all throughout preg – I promise.
