How do you relieve pain from hemorrhoids without using prescription steroid suppositories?
Does anyone know of any natural/non prescription ways to relieve hemorrhoids besides Preparation H?
someone said to use ilhes paste, is it true?

A hot water bottle will not provide "moist heat", just heat. But you may wish to avoid heat. Preparation H, Anusol and prescription meds do NOT worsen hemorrhoids. They improve the condition. Proctocort and Anusol-HC are prescribed when a hemorrhoid doesn’t respond to OTC methods. These contain a higher dose of hydrocortisone.
Vaseline (petroleum jelly) alone will do nothing to alleviate the pain and itching. By itself it has no effect on the swelling. Preparation H has petroleum jelly as one of its ingredients, so you’ll get it anyway.
If you know what a hemorhoid is, you could reason that heat will only draw more blood to the area and isn’t that the problem in the first place?
Make sure you have adequate dietary fiber, water and exercise. Avoid straining to have a bowel movement. Use a stool softener if you must.
A hot water bottle and Vaseline might be "Grandma’s advice" but keep in mind that a lot of people died from very treatable conditions in Grandma’s day. Sorry, never heard of "ilhes paste". Think you spelled it wrong.

I completely understand why you don’t want to use Preparation H or prescription drugs, they only make the symptoms worse. I have found the best relief is using a plain and very inexpensive home remedy, protroleum jelly. It will relieve the pain really fast and put a coating over the hemorrhoids so nothing will irritate during healing. Just use it everytime you have a bowl movement, on your toilet paper. Sitting on a hot water bottle is also really good for relieveing hemorrhoids, the moist heat will take the swelling down.
