How long did it take for your hemorrhoids to go away?

I’ve never been constipated, or had a previous problem with hemorrhoids. I got two around Thanksgiving, gave birth in January (the 22nd) and they still have not gone away. How long does it take?

after i had my twins i suffered hemorrhoids for months (not sure exactly how long but 2-3months), used prep H (pads & creams), suppositories (OUCH!!!), got a prescriptions… i really don’t think anything cured them, they finally faded away on their own

They don’t go away unless you have a surgical procedure to remove them, which I hear is very painful and your pretty much better off living with them if you can.

It depends on the person. If it is causing you pain ask the doctor to prescribe Anusol. This numbs your backside and will result in less pain. You could also try Fybogel which will make your waste more soft and may feel more comfortable coming through.

YES they were what I used to call "my two hitch hikers" that hopped aboard and wouldn’t leave. I got some medication from the doctor called PROCTOSEDYL and they were cleared up in about 2 or 3 days. They haven’t come back since and I’ve had Cameron on September 22, 2008. Once they are gone just try drinking sufficient amounts of water and you should never be constipated. Also, bran (fibre) can work both ways: if you have bran but don’t have much water…you can be constipated or just harder to go. If you have bran (fibre) and plenty of water…YOU WILL GO…believe me :)

Oh I feel your pain. I got them during my pregnancy and they went away after awhile. I gave birth on January 27th and still have them too. I hear from others that they may come and go for a long time. Only thing you can do is try preparation H, Tucks pads, and a diet in high fiber so you can pass stool without straining because the more you strain to poo the worse they will be.

In my experience, they never really do actually "go away"; they can be kept dormant and non-aggravating, though.

I’ve had hemorrhoids off and on for more than 20 years. There are definitely aggravating factors: stress, straining, standing for prolonged periods, eating dry, cold food excessively, etc.

I don’t think there is a standard time for them to disappear it is all depending on the type of treatment you follow. In some cases you can get dramatic relief in a few hours and in some cases it can disappear in 48 hours and in other cases they could still be there after years.  The best is to visit this site http://www.the-best-hemorrhoid-treatment.com/ and read more about the treatment options. You can also get a free report about hemorrhoids from this site with some very valuable information.
