How soon should a suppository help?

I am having hemorrhoid symptoms on the inside of me and decided to try using preparation H suppositories, but the first one I used I still had a lot of pain when I had a bowel movement. Then the next one I used I didn’t have a bowel movement until the next day, and it was still quite painful and there was quite a bit of blood.

Is the suppository not working, or does it just take more time?

Suppositories do not cure the problem, they only offer temporary relief. You have to use at least one everytime you have a bowel movement. I suggest you see a proctologist.
