I'm in sooo much discomfort from a hemorrhoid – what can I do until I can get to a doctor?

I’m in sooo much discomfort from a hemorrhoid – what can I do until I can get to a doctor? I am using Preparation H cream, suppositories, Tucks wipes, and I am trying not to move around. It even hurts when I am stationary, like when I’m trying to sleep. This is certainly embarrassing but I am desperate for help. The "type" of hemorrhoid I have is one lump, about a large pea size, right on the outside of my anus. Thanks.

Take some ice, put in a plastic sealable bag, lie back and place this on your hemorrhoid. This will numb it up for awhile. Then switch and go sit in a nice warm bath – or take a warm sitz bath. You can alternate this all day. This should provide some relief from the swelling and pain.

Also, take some Advil or Tylenol. Hopefully you are wearing loose fitting underwear and clothes. Sometimes underwear can aggravate the situation (if you are for instance wearing a thong).
Drink lots of water to stay well-hydrated and also to aid in digestion.

Watch your diet – eat lots of oatmeal, fruits, veggies – things with fiber/roughage to help with your BM’s.

Very successful 100% natural product for treatment of hemorrhoids is Rue Care Oil. It does the work also when other products (including Preparation H) have failed.

It shrink the hemorrhoids and also strengthen the veins and so prevent hemorrhoids from returning.

Changing your diet will help. Lots of fruits and vegetable and fiber. That will make it easier when you have to have a BM which is surely iritating your butt. I have the same thing from childbirth and it acts up occasionally. Do you sit a lot? That will irritate the hemorrhoid a lot.

buy lavender aromatherapy grade essential oil. mix a few drops into a lotion and apply. i sell this stuff and i can vouch for its good results..also by mouth take a mixed bioflavonoid complex…one bioflavonoid called rutin has been shown to strengthen those blood vessels and flatten back into the anus

Avoid foods and drinks that you feel they hurt you!
Some of them might be: meat, alcohol, etc.
Also, if possible visit an alternative medicine doctor (Chinese, or the like)!
Get rid of it naturally, step by step and for ever!

Try to sit as little as possible and frequent warm baths can help. Be sure the cream you are using contains cortizone which will help the inflammation

    HORSE CHESTNUT SEED EXTRACT
A great way to relieve the pain of hemorrhoids is Horse Chestnut Seed extract. You can get it at Vitacost.com or any other health food store. It’s pretty cheap. It’s in pill form. Nothing oily to apply. And it works very well. Just make sure you have a good potency. 257mg of Horse Chesnut Seed extract in each capsule is what I use. It strengthens the veins in legs (for varicose veins), and around the anus (hemorrhoids) so that they don’t hurt anymore. However, it won’t get rid of them. It just takes the pain away.

I think the entry below me is trying to get you to buy Rue Care Oil. Perhaps he’s selling it. I looked at the answers he gave and he just keeps telling people about Rue Care Oil for hemorrhoid problems.
