Is it normal to bleed a lot after having hemorrhoid surgery?

Bleeding I would imagine might be normal after that type of surgery…sort of like having a tooth extracted…profuse bleeding on the other hand would not be normal…what I mean by profuse bleeding is that you are loosing alot of blood…this is something that would be considered an emergency…but that doesnt sound like what your talking about…

If you had surgery, some bleeding is expected. However, if you are concerned – call your surgeon. He or she is best suited to answer questions about your condition. You should have been given a phone number. If not, call your local ER and speak with the Dr there.
