Is it normal to have hemorrhoids at 21?

I just turned 21, and have had hemorrhoids twice in the last year. Is this normal, or should I be concerned?

Hemorrhoids can occur at any age.

Sitting on cold concrete and that skinny butt! Is old wives tales.

Hemorrhoids are caused by small veins in the anus filling and becoming engorged with blood due to straining while trying to pass a motion.
They may go back up into the anus and are called internal hemorrhoids. When they come out, and they may stay out, they are called prolapsed hemorrhoids.

You can fix the problem by increasing the fibre in your diet. Drinking lot’s of water and incorporating daily exercise. Such as walking.
This will help prevent straining when trying to move your bowels.

You can obtain hemorrhoid ointment which contains local anesthetic if they hurt and something to help them shrink.
Once you have them, they tend to remain.

If they are severe you can have them surgically removed. But they will return again if straining occurs.

Women who are pregnant usually do not get away without getting hemorrhoids during pregnancy.

    If concerned. Visit your Doctor.

If you have a skinny butt and sit for a long time on cold, hard chairs it is normal. Just wash your butt with cool water several times a day and they will shrink. Also, if you are pregnant it is the norm.

It’s perfectly normal. Hemorrhoids can happen as early as the teen years.

Has your daily life changed recently? A new job? New hobby? For example, getting a new desk job where you are sitting in a chair for long periods of time can cause hemorrhoids. Research the causes of hemorrhoids and ask yourself what in your daily life could be responsible. If none apply, don’t be afraid to see a doctor.

You can live with it if you watch what you’re doing. Apparently you don’t drink nearly enough water & you don’t have nearly enough fiber in your system to help keep the traffic flowing. If you get constipated & push or strain to make a BM exit, then hemorrhoids will pop out on you & sometimes bleed. To avoid this – dump the junk food, fast food garbage & sugary sweet soda’s. Get on a good, healthy, balanced diet, including plenty of boiled or steamed vegetables. Drink lots of water, fruit juices & fat free milk to help keep the traiffc flowing. Snack on lots of RAW fruit & veggies. Make sure you eat a good, balanced breakfast daily. You get your energy for the day from your breakfast meal. Get up one hour early every morning & take a BRISK 30 minute walk – then – do the same thing again in the evening after dinner. When you have a BM, do not push or strain to make it exit. Let it exit slowly, on it’s own. Allow extra time if necessary. By drinking enough water & getting enough fiber in your system, this should keep things under control with very few worries.

Yes, this happens to 40% of population. People just don’t talk about it.
Make sure you change your diet (fiber!) and drink more fluid.
You are itching because your wound is slowing healing. To speed up, you may use heat and try not to injure it more (sitting).
One of the treatment as others have mentioned is "sit bath." It requires you to sit in warm water at least 3 times a day. Who has that luxury for this? We all have to work! I was told this remedy really helps: a microwavable heating pads design for you to sit on, with special curves that spare your tail bone. Check it out. It will save you a lot of itching anguish.
