Is it possible to get hemorrhoids from sitting too much?

I heard that truckers get them. What about people who sit at a computer all day?

I have never heard of this before. Hemorrhoids are caused from too much strain on and around the anus. Once you have them, it can be incredibly uncomfortable to sit, this may be what people are referring to.

Yes you can.Sitting on hard objects or cold can really get them going.Really not sure if sitting causes them or irritates them.Mostly they are from straining while having a movement.

Yes, it’s possible. Sitting, as well as standing for extended periods of time, can cause pressure on the veins in the lower part of the body. Simple explanation is – the blood might flow down faster than be pumped back to the heart, this additional blood that stays in the legs is causing varicose veins. If additional pressure is put on the veins in the rectal area it is causing hemorrhoids. Whoever is sitting for many hours, should be making short breaks to stretch the legs, and all the body, to speed up the blood flow. Why is not everyone that is sitting/standing for long period of time getting hemorrhoids or varicose veins? Depends also on the diet a person has. Some foods are causing weak veins, and weak veins are more prone to develop hemorrhoids and varicose veins. According to nutritionists a proper diet is based on 80% alkaline forming foods and only 20% acid forming foods. See link below for a list of acid and alkaline forming foods. Western diet is mainly acidic, and acid forming foods are causing weak veins.
