Make sure it’s not coming from a bite…. like from ants. I had a neighbor that had this happen. Poor pups were being bitten left and right by those little baby ants…..

And anal glands, which need to be cleaned periodically, can become inflamed as well.

It could be tissue from his insides that were forced out because he strained too hard while pooping or swollen tissue or even glands Human grade hemmorid cream like PrepH is ok to use. It has soothing qualities. I would apply a small amount on the area – rub in well. If the conditions worsens or hasn’t gotten better overnite, a trip to the vet’s might be in order.

If there is any puss, I would go to the vet right away.

They have little gland like things that get stopped up..my friend grooms dogs and told me she hated cleaning this part…

Yes. A few signs of hemorrhiods are blood in feces and visable straining during a bowel movement.

If you believe your dog has hemorrhoids then make an appointment with the vet as soon as possible.

Also, it could be the anal glands needing expressed.

any animal can, take here to the vet to get checked out, it is usually nothing major,I doubt it would be hemorrhoids, but it’s better to be sure!

Dogs can get hemorrhoids, but it’s very rare. A more likely explanation is that his anal glands are full and need to be expressed. When they’re full, it will make him uncomfortable and will result in him "scooting" across the carpet in an attempt to relieve the pressure.

My Scotty has problems with her anal glands – however she is an adult dog – I would have the vet check to ensure a tumor is not present when you take the pup in for his next shots. They check out the little pups pretty well when they are getting their shots – just mention it to him/her and they would be glad to have a look.

    Enjoy your new pup!!

    Hemmoroids is a possibility.
It could also be a problem with anal glands. Dogs are the type of animal that occasionally need to express their anal glands. If you notice the dog sitting down and dragging itself forward that could be an effort yto express the anal glands. Even if its not the anal glands, the drangging could be an effort to subdue anal irritation.

Hemorrhoids come out of the rectum, not beside it.

There is also the possibilty of tumors, moles, warts or any number of growths that could occur on the body.

Regardless of what you think it is, you should have the dog checked but a veterinarian before the problem escalates.

    Hope your dogs ok…. 8-)
