okay i think i have a hemorrhoid?

The other day I was sick to my stomach and had diarrhea. when I wiped there was a little blood and since then about 4 days later, my bum hole is sore. Upon looking I think its a hemorrhoid I am not sure because I have never had one. My question is how do I get rid of it? Will it go away on its own? I have a pretty healthy diet with lots of water.

Home treatment is recommended for most external hemorrhoids. Treatment includes sitting in a warm bath (sitz bath) several times daily, gradually increasing fiber and water in your diet, and occasional use of stool softeners.

Warm bath can be very inconvenient, especially when you work all day. Some work around are available, such as the sunny bay hemo pads. http://www.sunshine-pillows.com/hemopads.php . What you need to do is microwave it and sit on it. It has a special shape that relieves the pain and pressure in the area, and the heat is therapeutic.

Most internal hemorrhoids can be treated at home with the same measures used for external hemorrhoids. Generally, more severe hemorrhoids can be treated with nonsurgical procedures such as tying off hemorrhoids with rubber bands (rubber band ligation); scarring the tissue around them (coagulation therapy); injecting them with chemicals (injection sclerotherapy); or surgical removal (hemorrhoidectomy).

You can often prevent hemorrhoids or keep them from becoming worse by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Eat a fiber-rich diet of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains; drink plenty of water; and exercise regularly.

A hemorrhoid is a small blood vessel that is enlarged or bulging… a varicose vein at your rectum. You can get these from straining to go to the bathroom, from irritation like diarrhea, with pregnancy or from being overweight. Some people are more prone to hemorrhoids than others.

You can get an over the counter topical ointment like Preparation-H, which will reduce the swelling and itching you might have. Time will also help heal it. Cold compresses might also help. Make sure you eat lots of fiber and drink lots of liquid. Straining to go to the bathroom is one of the most common causes, so keeping yourself from getting constipated will help (the fiber and water).

    Hope this resolves soon.

You need to see your doctor about this because it may only be a ‘roid, but it could be something else.

Reminds me of this: A few years ago I was at a drugstore and I was standing behind a guy at the checkout stand. He only had 1 item-Preparation H. The high school kid at the counter rang him up at the register and asked, "Is that all?" He responded, "Well, isn’t that enough?"

    See your doctor.

Do as Patti says. I have also found soaking in the tub helps. I have had them for years. If they on on the outside then you don’t need to use Prep H inside just use it on the outside. Use the salve type and not the cream or cooling gel. That cooling gel stings like mad. Do not do the colon cleanse as someone else was saying. There have been conflicting stories on it.
