Ice Packs – are to be placed in the anal area for hemorrhoids that are severe.

OTC medications
Using OTC medications are popular for treating hemorrhoids at their early stages. The medications used for this are ointments, creams, laxatives, and petroleum jellies. The best known treatment is to use hemorrhoids cream that contain hydrocortisone and antiseptics.
The treatments carried out for internal hemorrhoids are as follows.
Rubber Band Ligation – This is used for treating internal hemorrhoids of 2nd degree and it is done as an outpatient treatment. This is a non-surgical procedure wherein a rubber band is tied on the tissue inflamed thereby reducing the blood flow.
Injection Sclerotherapy – In this method, a chemical solution is injected into the mucous membrane that is located nearer to the hemorrhoid. This chemical facilitates veins inflammation and closure and this shrinks the hemorrhoid.
Infrared Photocoagulation – This is used to treat hemorrhoids of small/medium size. Infrared heat is applied on the hemorrhoids by the doctor with an IR device that coagulates the dilated veins of the hemorrhoids. The blood vessels coagulate and stop the blood flow thereby eliminating the hemorrhoids.
Laser Coagulation – This is a relatively new technique wherein electric current is passed through the hemorrhoid. The electric current produces a chemical reaction that stops the supply of blood to the hemorrhoids to shrink.
Hemorrhoidectomy – a surgical procedure. The hemorrhoid groups in the anal canal are surgically removed using a laser, scalpel or cautery device.
The above are just some ways to treat Hemorrhoids. Seek professional advice if you are going ahead with any of the above.
