hi, the best position is to sleep on you back with a pillow under your knees to help the hemorrhoids go back. Yes bed rest would be good, when you are up sitting in a chair, walking the pull of gravity keeps them from going back in. The same when you’re in bed that’s why a pillow under your knees will help so much. Try to stay off your feet as much as possible.
HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER, GOOD LUCK!!

I had hemorrhoids and when I switched to a whole food high fiber diet they went away for good

use both soluble fiber like oat bran and apples and insoluble fiber like wheat bran and whole grains.

use organic or wildcrafted bulk herbs available in bulk herb section of some local health food stores or fresh picked or google bulk herbs and search..teas are best made using distilled water as it pulls out more of the chemicals/nutrients form the plants

    some remedies are found here

I also looked up the directions to several herbs for this problem in his book

    burdock ointment

black walnut tea rectal injections every 3 or 4 hours

chickweed make a tea by boiling the organic herb for 15 minutes (cool) and bathe the area 2-3 times a day (as warm as possible) then apply chickweed ointment

mullein apply mullein ointment and take internally as tincture or tea

plantain make a strong tea (steep one ounce for 20-30 minutes in one pint of boiled hot water, let cool , inject one tbs 3-4 times daily (or more frequently in bad cases) and especially after each bowel movement

red raspberry leaf..inject 6 ounces (tea) and retain as long as possible

spearmint..inject small amounts into the rectum

yarrow use a clean enema then inject the cool tea into the bowels(when there is pain the tea should be about 112 degrees) then inject two tbs several times a day and after each stool

other things I did not look up listed under hemorrhoids in his big herbs are balm of Gilead, butternut, cascara sagrada, cayenne, chaparral, goldenseal, licorice, poke., tormentil, turkey rhubarb, witch hazel distilled aqueous extract or decoction (boiled tea).

for further instructions on using these see the book by Dr john r Christoper called the school of natural healing
