Incumbent Senator Arlen Specter trails former Congressman Pat Toomey by 21 points in an early look at Pennsylvania’s 2010 Republican Primary. Fifty-one percent (51%) of Republican voters statewide say they’d vote for Toomey while just 30% would support Specter.
That’s the true reason he jumped ship. That, and he sucks. He wouldn’t even win in his state primary. You can have him.

Specter is now a two time turn coat. He was originally a democrat, and when it profited Specter more, he switched to the republican party.
Now, Specter sees his future fading in the polls and figures that he will not be re-elected in 2010. So now the turn has wormed and the worm is a democrat again. Y’all are welcome to him and could have Gramme and McCain. They act like demos anyway.
