Preparation H will only shrink them. Hot baths help. I mean HOT BATHS, your straining in some way , whether it be because of a bowel movement, too much or being constipated or reading while going to the bathroom will aggravate it. When I had them, I would take hot baths, and take it easy. I haven't had any problems for a while, once in a while a flare up , but I don't use anything but a hot bath to get rid of them to be honest. It has to do with straining.
