Will suppositories help my external hemorrhoids?

I’ve been using them for a full week now. (Bleeding has stopped, but there is no other effect.) Should I continue using them? Anyways, what do suppositories DO? Do they temporarily or permanently shrink hemorrhoidal tissue?

  1. no. But you can try making it kinda melty and applying it to the hemorrhoid. Suppositories temporarily shrink the tissue in the anus. When they’re external, you need to apply external medicine. Your dr can prescribe some.

  2. Don“t use suppositories for your external hemorrhoids. Use cream to relief in first instance, you can ask your doctor about this. Then, if you have haemorrhoids constantly, I recommend you a book that worked perfect for me. Visit http://www.hemorrhoidscuretreatment.com

  3. Suppositories are generally used for internal hemorrhoids, not external ones. As to what they do, they shrink tissue in the anal region. A great remedy I’ve found for an External Hemorrhoid, is old spice aftershave. Applying some of this HURTS like heck for a couple minutes, but afterward, even if you don’t do anything else to help your hemorrhoids, it can relieve the irritation for a couple weeks.

Anyway, applying the old spice treatment or some witch hazel wipes which you can get at your local health food retailer, will help you deal with the pain, itching, and irritation. While you’re doing this, be sure to attack what CAUSED your hemorrhoids in the first place.

Hemorrhoids are essentially weakened vein walls. This weakness could have been caused by a couple of things; malnutrition which means that the veins can’t get enough of the building blocks that make them strong and so they atrophy, or damage of some kind. Malnutrition is the likely cause.

Once the walls were weakened, it just took some pressure to cause the vein to bulge like the inner-tube in a bicycle tire and become a hemorrhoid. Pressure can be caused by such things as pushing too hard when having a bowel movement due to constipation, holding in your feces or gas for too long, lifting something heavy etc.

To permanently rid yourself of hemorrhoids, maintain your treatment of the irritation (old spice, or witch hazel) while doing preventative treatments.

Eat a properly balanced diet with lots of green leafy vegetables so that you have the nutrients and vitamins you need to rebuild your veins into a healthy configuration

Get lots of fiber and Milk Thistle supplements (you can get these from the health food store too) they’ll soften your stool and strengthen your liver to help keep you regular. This will mean less constipation, and as a result, less straining on the toilet.

Then just be gentle with your hemorrhoids; not too much running, don’t sit for extended periods of time without a round hemorrhoid cushion and wipe gently when you’re going to the bathroom.

    I hope this helps!
