Yeast infection in anus or hemorrhoids?

Is it possible to have a yeast infection in the anus?
My butt has been very itchy, and sometimes bleeds when I poo. It also has a very foul smell, this is not due to hygiene because I shower daily, it seems to smell bad even right after I shower, I wash with soap and pat it dry. This has been going on for a couple weeks.
Or could this be hemorrhoids?
What is this, and how can I get rid of it?

You could have both or something else. Please get checked, the malodor could be from something higher up in the sigmoid/colon area, Have you tried prep H? You can have internal and external hemorrhoids, blood can have an odor, is it on your underwear? It may be a simple solution to a long term problem. worth it to see a doc or gastroenterologist. Hope you feel better soon. You don’t have to live with this.

doubt it is yeast. Could be proctitis. An inflammation of the anus. Could be hemorrhoids. Try some anusol and if that doesn’t work see your doc!

Yes, actually, as I found out. You can get a yeast infection in the area around the anus, and it itches like crazy and can be super irritating. The bleeding you might want to have a doc look at (it’s really not that bad…I was a huge baby about going to the doc when I had bleeding and itching but I’ve had periods that were worse than the exam, and it took all of 5 minutes). Hemorrhoids shouldn’t give you a nasty smell–that could be something else. I didn’t have a smell when I had yeast infections but you never know. Try asking a doc.

Remember rule number one is always that any bleeding coming from the anus should be checked by a professional to rule out more serious conditions. Bleeding from the anal channel does not only relate to hemorrhoids or piles it can also be caused by much more serious conditions such as cancer or polyps (small growths in the anal channel).

Medical professionals can do an examination of the rectum through a tube. The procedure is known as proctoscopy and is absolutely necessary to rule out cancer or polyps.

Furthermore bleeding hemorrhoids also have the potential to cause severe anemia (anaemia) because of continual blood loss.
